Cities such as Calgary, Edmonton, and Saskatoon may see maximum daytime temperatures ranging from -10C to -15C, while overnight lows could reach -20C to -30C. Across Europe, a cold snap is anticipated, as northern regions will gradually experience declining temperatures this week, with a marked drop expected the following week. Forecasts suggest temperatures may fall between 2C and 5C below average, and as much as 10C below in parts of Scandinavia. This cooling trend results from a high-pressure area over eastern Europe leading to an easterly flow and introducing a polar continental airmass into the region.
