California Experienced Third Earthquake in Less Than 24 Hours
California was hit by a third earthquake within a day, the latest being a 2.7 magnitude quake in Hayward. Earlier, two quakes were recorded near Petrolia at magnitudes of 3.3 and 3.4. These events raise concerns about the region’s seismic activity and preparedness among residents.
California has experienced a significant jolt, registering its third earthquake within less than a day. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), a 2.7 magnitude tremor struck at 8:03 AM ET on Thursday in Hayward. Prior to this, two other earthquakes were recorded off the coast of Petrolia, California, occurring about 250 miles to the north.
The initial earthquake occurred at 2:06 AM ET and had a magnitude of 3.3, shortly followed by another quake measuring 3.4, which took place at 4:51 AM ET. The two earlier quakes were located approximately 20 miles apart along the California coast. Citizens of the region remain on alert amid this series of seismic activities, and further developments are anticipated.
The recent series of earthquakes in California highlights the region’s ongoing seismic activity and the importance of preparedness among residents. With three quakes recorded in less than six hours, the geological stability of the area has come under scrutiny. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to provide updates and ensure public safety.
