Three Suspects Wanted for the Murder of Scottish Businessman in Kenya

Mr. Scott, aged 58 and originally from Dunfermline in Fife, was a senior director at the credit scoring company Fico while in Nairobi to attend a conference. After visiting a nightclub, he went missing and failed to meet colleagues for a scheduled presentation.

His body was found with bound hands in Makongo Forest. Several arrests have occurred in relation to this case, including two men—a taxi driver and a nightclub waiter, who were among the last to see him alive. Subsequently, two other suspects were arrested in Mombasa.

Investigators believe that Mr. Scott was killed in a house owned by one of the suspects, and funds were withdrawn from his account at multiple locations by the same individual acting in collaboration with another suspect. The Nairobi court has authorized the police to detain the suspects for 21 days while further inquiries are conducted.

A post-mortem examination yielded inconclusive results regarding Mr. Scott’s cause of death, with pathologists indicating that the injuries observed were not severe enough to be fatal. Toxicology testing will be carried out for comprehensive analysis. The DCI has also reached out to Interpol for assistance in tracing Mr. Scott’s mobile phone as well as his debit and credit card transactions.
