The Niger State Police Command has announced the arrest of eleven individuals for their suspected involvement in thuggery and disturbances to public peace within the Chaichainiya area along the Kaduna road in Suleja Local Government Area. The Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, provided this information in a statement issued in Minna.

On March 6, 2025, at approximately 11:00 PM, the police received reports concerning a brawl among local youths and secondary school students, allegedly led by one Umar Idris, surrounding issues related to romantic relationships. During this altercation, multiple gunshots were fired, injuring two young victims, Nura and Imrana, aged 10 and 11, respectively.

SP Abiodun further elaborated that the eleven apprehended suspects, including Umar Idris, are currently undergoing investigation regarding the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that a member of a sister security agency may be responsible for the gunfire that resulted in the injuries sustained by the two children.
