Mrs. Byrne was also assaulted during this incident, suffering significant injuries including a broken nose and brain bleeding.

After the attackers were initially arrested but later pleaded guilty, the situation took a twist when Thai authorities arrested the Byrnes on countercharges, claiming they inflicted ‘superficial injuries and mental anguish.’ The couple is now facing court proceedings, with fears of imprisonment looming, particularly as their passports have been confiscated, potentially complicating their return to the UK.
