The Public Relations Officer, Moses Yamu, indicated that the accident involved a white Vannette bus, which collided with pedestrians while apparently attempting to evade arrest by members of the Edo State Public Safety Response. As a result of this incident, a young girl was fatally injured, while her mother sustained injuries and is in the hospital.

Mr. Yamu reported that a member of the Public Safety Response, suspected of contributing to the accident, was rescued from a mob and is now in police custody.
