According to a release from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Armenian government addressed accusations made by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence, which reported six ceasefire violations attributed to Armenian armed forces between March 16 and 18. The Armenian Ministry of Defense conducted inspections, concluding that the claims were groundless.

The Armenian authorities recalled an offer made on June 22, 2024, proposing the establishment of a joint mechanism with Azerbaijan to investigate ceasefire infractions. Armenia’s statement expressed disappointment that Azerbaijan had not yet responded positively to this initiative.

The Ministry of Defence indicated that Armenia remains open to investigating the facts underpinning Azerbaijani reports should they be communicated to them. Furthermore, they emphasized that “not a single fact or substantiation about ceasefire violation by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia has been conveyed by the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Armenia.”

Armenia asserted that there was no rationale for its armed forces to violate the ceasefire, emphasizing a commitment to peace. Armenia has urged Azerbaijan to finalize consultations regarding the timing and location for signing the peace agreement, affirming that the draft addresses key issues essential to the relationship between the two nations.

In January 2025, Armenia proposed solutions regarding railway cargo transportation and mutual arms control mechanisms to Azerbaijan, awaiting a favorable response. Furthermore, Armenia expressed its willingness to continue work on border delimitation with Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, Egypt has welcomed the progress toward a draft peace agreement, believing it will assist in resolving the conflict and enhancing stability in the South Caucasus. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this represents a significant achievement stemming from sustained efforts by both nations and expressed hope for a timely signing of the peace agreement.
