Lamborghini launched the Temerario supercar in Johannesburg, priced at R7,525,000. It features a hybrid powertrain with a V8 engine and electric motors, delivering 677 kW and enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. The car offers 13 driving modes for an enhanced driving experience, marking a significant addition to Lamborghini’s lineup.

Lamborghini has introduced its latest supercar, the Temerario, at an event held in Johannesburg, marking the vehicle as the successor to the Huracán. The Temerario is set to be offered at an eye-watering price of R7,525,000 and aims to become the brand’s ‘entry-level’ supercar.

The Chief Technical Officer of Lamborghini, Rouven Mohr, remarked, “Temerario offers an innovative and emotional driving experience at the same time. The e-4WD system including real torque vectoring is a perfect combination.” The vehicle features a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine coupled with three electric motors, generating a remarkable total output of 677 kW. This impressive power allows the Temerario to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds.

Additionally, Mohr highlighted the vehicle’s dual nature, stating, “On the one hand we have a car that is absolutely precise and effective on the track, on the other we have a more typically rear-wheel drive character, oriented towards maximum involvement for the driver.” This model marks a significant milestone, being the first super sports car from Lamborghini equipped with a V8 twin-turbo engine alongside electric motors.

The Temerario offers drivers a selection of 13 driving experience modes available via rotors on the steering wheel, such as Città, Strada, Sport, Corsa, and Corsa Plus. Moreover, activating the Launch Control feature is as simple as pressing the “checkered flag” button for two seconds, making it ideal for quick sprints in urban environments.

The unveiling of Lamborghini’s Temerario in South Africa highlights the brand’s continued innovation in the supercar realm. Priced at R7,525,000, this vehicle combines exceptional hybrid technology with rapid acceleration capabilities and diverse driving modes, affirming Lamborghini’s prestige in the automotive industry. The Temerario not only serves as a successor to the Huracán but also introduces a sophisticated driving experience tailored to enthusiasts.
