On Sunday morning, three tornadoes were confirmed in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), resulting from severe storms. Following the events, the National Weather Service conducted damage assessments in Barnwell and Burke counties on Monday. It was determined that Burke County experienced two EF-0 tornadoes, while Barnwell County had one EF-0 tornado, all situated east of Girard and between Snelling and Barnwell, respectively.

All tornadoes possessed the lowest classification on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, yet even weak tornadoes can inflict considerable damage. This occurrence was anticipated, as radar observations led to at least five tornado warnings throughout the CSRA early Sunday. Nonetheless, formal confirmation of the tornadoes was not available until the following day.

Georgia also faced tornado activities in Paulding and Mitchell counties, along with a separate tornado crossing Lake Murray in South Carolina. In Chapin, South Carolina, the tornado made landfall at 7:38 a.m., impacting the Timberlake area with significant concentrated damage before dissipating by 7:48 a.m. This EF-1 tornado had peak winds estimated at 90 mph and traced a 5.8-mile path.
