Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) forecaster Jessica Lingard commented on the unusual nature of this weather pattern for the region. She indicated, “The last time we saw a run of extreme heat like this was almost exactly to the day 40 years ago,” referring to the heatwave of March 25, 1985.
