Eidul Fitr 2025: Predictions by Suparco and Upcoming Celebrations

Eidul Fitr 2025 is predicted to be celebrated on March 31, with moon sighting expectations set for March 30. Suparco and astronomers support this forecast, while the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene for confirmation. The government has announced three public holidays for Eid.

The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has announced that Eidul Fitr 2025 is anticipated to be celebrated on March 31. Their statement indicates that the crescent moon is predicted to be visible in Pakistan on March 30, leading to a Ramazan month lasting 29 days. As such, March 31 will likely mark the first day of Eidul Fitr.

Furthermore, observations for the crescent moon in Saudi Arabia reflect a low likelihood of sighting on March 29, 2025. It is projected that the crescent will appear on March 30, with celebrations in Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East commencing on March 31 as well.

Previously, astronomers had also forecasted that Eidul Fitr would be observed on March 31 in Pakistan. They noted that the crescent’s age would be approximately 26 hours when it becomes visible on the night of March 30.

In tandem with these predictions, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has similarly anticipated Eid on March 31, based on the crescent’s age. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to convene on March 30 at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony for the moon sighting.

In conclusion, Eidul Fitr 2025 is expected to fall on March 31, with both Suparco and the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee corroborating this prediction based on the visibility of the crescent moon. The federal government has also announced a three-day holiday period for the occasion, starting from the day of Eid.
