This collaboration aims to enhance Mauritian transportation through sustainable mobility solutions.

TATA has officially launched its electric vehicle (EV) lineup in Mauritius, marking its expansion beyond the SAARC region. The launch, in collaboration with Allied Motors, introduces three models: the Tiago.ev hatchback, Punch.ev sub-4metre compact SUV, and Nexon.ev compact SUV, all designed with advanced high-voltage architectures.

Yash Khandelwal, Head of International Business at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, emphasized Mauritius’ strategic importance in their global EV strategy. He noted that TATA.ev’s established success in India and SAARC markets will facilitate Mauritius’ shift toward electric mobility through their varied EV offerings and robust partnership with Allied Motors.

James Ngan, Managing Director of Allied Motors, lauded the partnership as transformative for Mauritius’ automotive landscape. He remarked that the TATA.ev lineup combines performance, efficiency, and cutting-edge technology, complemented by extensive after-sales support. Ngan expressed optimism that these EVs would significantly improve transportation in Mauritius and enhance the ownership experience.

The Tiago.ev is designed as an affordable and feature-rich entry-level EV, providing a real-world range of 190-210 km and quick charging options. The Punch.ev, focused on SUV practicality, includes premium features such as a 26.03 cm Harman infotainment system and a range of 270-290 km. The Nexon.ev, the flagship model, boasts a range of 350-375 km and rapid acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds, alongside luxury features like a 360-degree camera and JBL audio system.

All TATA.ev vehicles are covered by an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty on the battery and motor, in addition to a 7-year vehicle warranty. Customers will receive a complimentary 7.2 kW home charging wall box. Allied Motors is committed to providing comprehensive sales and after-sales support through its network, ensuring that its team is well-trained by Tata Motors to maintain high service standards.

This partnership enhances TATA.ev’s technical expertise with Allied Motors’ understanding of the local market, aiming to offer sustainable and advanced mobility solutions customized for Mauritian consumers.

In conclusion, TATA’s introduction of its electric vehicle range in Mauritius signals a significant step in its international expansion strategy. By collaborating with Allied Motors, TATA aims to facilitate the transition to electric mobility in the region. The diverse lineup, coupled with strong after-sales support, positions TATA to make a substantial impact on the Mauritian automotive market.
