Ambassador Yin stated that the agreement embodies the principles of equality, mutual respect, and win-win cooperation that were emphasized at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit, as highlighted by President Xi Jinping. Furthermore, he noted its alignment with Liberia’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID), promoted by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., indicating that it serves the interests of both countries and their citizens.
H.E. Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, signed the agreement on behalf of the Liberian government. She extended President Boakai’s gratitude, noting that this agreement would fortify ties between Liberia and China while contributing significantly to Liberia’s economic growth. The Foreign Minister affirmed that the timing of this agreement is crucial for advancing collaboration between both nations.
“On behalf of President Boakai and the Liberian people, I express our deepest appreciation to the government and people of China,” stated Foreign Minister Nyanti. She assured the appropriate utilization of the agreement for the benefit of Liberia and reiterated the country’s commitment to the One China policy, affirming ongoing support in bilateral relations.
The Foreign Minister characterized the signing ceremony as a pivotal moment in their bilateral cooperation, expressing gratitude for past Chinese projects in Liberia. She remained optimistic about future collaboration to fulfill their shared developmental and prosperity objectives.
