Identified as Barafi, Ayya, and a third person whose name remains unknown, they allegedly attempted to entice Halima with an offer of N5,000, which she reportedly refused. The persistence of these men seemed to escalate quickly, leading to an uncomfortable exchange that soon turned into a physical confrontation.

Witnesses claim that the situation deteriorated rapidly, and that during a scuffle, one of the suspects pulled a dagger and stabbed Usman in the back. He was immediately transported to the General Hospital in Minna for emergency medical care, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after, as indicated by the medical staff at the facility.

Following the attack, officers from the Niger State Police Command arrived at the scene to collect evidence and sent Usman’s body to the hospital’s mortuary for an autopsy.
