Provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Cherelle Ehlers, reported that the operation included comprehensive actions such as search and seizure activities, vehicle checkpoints, and border patrols. These measures led to the examination of 1,065 vehicles and 1,489 individuals, resulting in three arrests related to illegal drug possession and undocumented foreign nationals.

During the operation, law enforcement seized Mandrax valued at R4,525 and cash suspected to be intended for criminal activities. Additionally, search efforts uncovered illegal items, including fish nets, fish traps, illicit cigarettes worth approximately R150,156, and tobacco products valued around R2,000, along with traffic violation fines totaling R14,600.

Colonel Ehlers emphasized that such operations will persist between the Republic of South Africa and its neighboring countries to safeguard border security.
