The World Meteorological Centre Beijing (WMC-BJ) reported that Tropical Cyclone “Jude” struck the eastern coast of Mozambique on March 10, 2025, at 08:00 Beijing time. The cyclone is expected to progress westward at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour, with a rapid decrease in its intensity.

The cyclone’s aftermath will result in significant rainfall across central and northern Mozambique, as well as southern Malawi. Forecasts indicate heavy to torrential rain, with total precipitation potentially ranging from 100 to 200 mm, and localized areas may experience rainfall surpassing 300 mm.

Moreover, gusty winds of 8 to 9 levels are anticipated in central and northern Mozambique’s coastal areas, alongside the Mozambique Channel. Areas directly impacted by “Jude” could experience wind speeds reaching 10 to 12 grades, with gusts potentially escalating to 13 to 14 grades.
