Two individuals have received six months of imprisonment for conspiracy and theft at the Tarkwa District Court One. The convicts, Robert Cudjoe, aged 19, and Isaac Aidoo, aged 18, pleaded guilty to stealing faulty car parts valued at GH¢17,500 from an auto mechanic’s workshop near Bogoso junction.
The prosecution, led by Police Sergeant Enoch Assan-Donkoh, revealed that the theft took place on October 25, 2024. Cudjoe, Aidoo, and an accomplice named Emma, who remains at large, executed their plan to steal various vehicle parts, including gearboxes and a car battery from the workshop of Christopher Dorglo.
Upon stealing, the group concealed the items behind a storey building along the Bogoso junction-Samahu road. Aidoo attempted to transport the stolen goods using a commercial tricycle but was interrupted by a witness, Eric Wilson, leading to a confrontation. Aidoo and Emma fled, but Cudjoe was apprehended.
The court also heard that Dorglo discovered the theft soon after, confirming the stolen items as his property. Aidoo was later arrested and confessed to the crime, implicating Cudjoe and Emma. Efforts to locate Emma are currently underway by law enforcement authorities, following full investigations and charges against Cudjoe and Aidoo.
In summary, Robert Cudjoe and Isaac Aidoo were sentenced to six months in prison for their involvement in the theft of faulty car parts. Their conduct, alongside a still-at-large accomplice, was condemned by the court, reflecting a serious stance on theft and conspiracy within the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality. The authorities continue to seek the third accomplice to ensure complete accountability.
