A man named Mubarak, believed to be mentally unstable, has been apprehended by the Niger State Police for the fatal stabbing of 25-year-old Shamseen Danshehu. The incident occurred on Sunday evening in the Kwangila area of Minna, where the two men allegedly engaged in a physical altercation leading to the stabbing.

Following the assault, Danshehu was immediately transported to Minna General Hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Local residents expressed their uncertainty regarding the cause of the conflict; however, they noted that Mubarak was frequently seen scavenging through refuse containers in the area.

Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesman for the Niger State Police Command, confirmed Danshehu’s death and the arrest of Mubarak. Abiodun stated, “It was reported that one Mubarak, who is suspected of insanity and also scavenging around Kwangila, had a fight with a passerby, Shamsu Danshehu.” He elaborated that during the confrontation, Mubarak stabbed Danshehu in the chest with scissors, leading to the victim’s demise.

Abiodun indicated that Mubarak has been taken into custody for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
