Kazakhstan is preparing for a severe heatwave with temperatures possibly reaching up to 43°C, affecting 14 regions. While some areas will experience high temperatures, thunderstorms are also predicted, leading to a mix of extreme weather conditions throughout the country.
Kazakhstan is bracing for a significant heatwave, with meteorologists reporting severe temperature increases. The national weather service, Kazhydromet, has issued warnings for 14 regions, stating that temperatures may soar to an extreme 43 degrees Celsius in certain areas. This forecast is expected to unfold on June 17, as reported by Kazinform News Agency.
The Zhetysu region will initially face a steep rise in temperature, with predicted highs reaching between 35 and 39 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the Turkistan region should prepare for even hotter conditions, as temperatures are set to spike into the 40 to 43 degrees Celsius range. In the capital, Astana, residents can expect heightened discomfort as the mercury is forecast to hit 35 degrees Celsius.
In contrast to the oppressive heat expected in most regions, meteorologists have also warned of thunderstorms in areas like Zhetysu, Aktobe, Akmola, Abai, and East Kazakhstan. The duality of conditions comes as earlier reports indicated that parts of Kazakhstan could see thundershowers and hail earlier in the week, underscoring the volatile weather patterns across the country.
Kazakhstan is facing an intense heatwave with temperatures predicted to reach extreme highs, particularly in Turkistan. The situation is complicated by expected thunderstorms in several regions, indicating a challenging mix of severe weather conditions. Residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions during this intense weather event.
