Four Suspects Remanded in Connection with Corentyne Armed Robberies

The accused individuals include Jousha Beharry, 24; Nathanel Latchmna, 20; Sahil Hardin, 24; and Bryan Sundatt, 18.

All four suspects were charged with armed robbery against a female victim that took place in Tain, Corentyne, on January 28. They appeared before Magistrate Tuanna Hardy at the Whim Magistrate’s Court on January 31, where they were not required to enter a plea, and the case has been adjourned until February 28. Furthermore, Beharry, Latchmna, and Sundatt have faced additional charges related to another robbery that involved three victims in Rose Hall Town on January 22.

The suspects made an appearance at the Albion Magistrate Court before Magistrate Michelle Mathias and were remanded. Beharry has been charged with two separate offenses. One charge pertains to the theft of $300,000 and additional items valued at $1,550,000 from a 39-year-old female victim in Nigg Village. The second charge involves robbing a 31-year-old domestic worker from Fyrish Long Dam of $15,000 and a cell phone worth $41,000. Both cases are set to be heard on February 4.

All charges against the accused have been filed pursuant to Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, of the Laws of Guyana. Authorities are conducting ongoing investigations in light of the severity and frequency of these criminal acts in the region.
